Navigation Maps

For anyone interested, I’ve just made my Navigation Maps available through SkyDrive, which you can access through any MicroSoft email account, Hotmail, Windows Live, etc.

The Navigation Maps include a huge database of free or cheap campsites throughout Canada and the United States. Also, there is a lot of other pertinent information for travellers.

You will need various software on your computer to access most of these files. The map files are, for the most part, in MicroSoft Streets and Trips format. There are also files that can only be accessed with the Firefox browser. There are PDF files and MicroSoft Word files also, along with just plain text files.

I use MicroSoft Streets and Trips 2013, but, in some cases, previous versions will allow you to change the files back to an older version so that you can view them.

Also remember, all of this information is subject to change at any time, so keep that in mind when using these files.

Below is the link, which will take you to a page where you can download whichever files you would like. You can click on each folder to get to the individual files, or you can download the whole file at once. Just right click on any file and choose ‘download’ from the drop down menu. The files will download as a ‘zip’ file and you will need to extract them with a program such as winzip. Be advised, some of the files are rather large, and may take some time to download.
